Introducing: Chief Innovation Officer, Greg Kenny

Greg Kenny has been helping businesses transform their respective industries for over 20 years. Over the course of his career, Greg amassed a wealth of experience in information technology and organizational leadership.

In 2003, Greg joined a small IT services company and helped them become one of the southeastern region’s premier IT service providers (Claris Networks). During his five year tenure at Claris Networks, he helped the company grow its annual revenue an average of 40% year over year and receive several industry awards in recognition for its growth and positive culture.

In 2007, Greg launched a consultancy to assist healthcare clients navigate the challenges associated with EMR Adoption, HIPAA compliance, and other government-imposed regulations. It wasn’t long before Greg developed a passion for the industry, and in 2008, he made the decision to pursue opportunities in healthcare IT full time.

As Chief Innovation Officer for OdessaConnect, Greg is responsible for identifying strategies, business opportunities and new technologies to develop new capabilities, architectures, and business models to promote our healthcare solutions. He will also serve as Compliance Officer for HIPAA-related matters.

Why did you decide to join OdessaConnect?

“No one will argue that our healthcare system is in need of transformation. I believe that the greatest and most immediate impact one can have on their health is to improve the relationships they have with their caregivers; this includes doctors, specialists, family members, and pretty much anyone else that has been part of that person’s health journey.  This is particularly true when you are talking about the health and wellbeing of our elderly population. That said, there are many good companies out there offering solutions to improve the health of our seniors, but Odessa is one that I feel is uniquely positioned with their technology and their culture to rise above the noise.”

My passion project is to leverage my knowledge and creativity to bring engaging experiences to those individuals that feel technology has left them behind.”

What is your particular interest in senior care?

“Comparatively speaking, elderly people in our country don’t receive the honor and respect that they do in other cultures. This has always bothered me as I believe a person’s last years should be their best years.  For most people, this translates into spending more time with those that you love. As I transition into more of a role of a caregiver for my own parents, my passion project is to leverage my knowledge and creativity to bring engaging experiences to those individuals that feel technology has left them behind.”
